You can activate a new SiriusXM radio or streaming account in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through finding your Radio ID, creating or signing in to your account, choosing a plan, refreshing your signal, and tuning in.
1

Find your Radio ID or ESN

Turn your car radio to channel 0 or channel 1 to display your Radio ID (also called the ESN or SID). Write it down. If you are activating streaming only, you can skip this step.
2

Create or sign in to your SiriusXM account

Go to the SiriusXM website and sign in to an existing account, or create a new one with your email and a secure password.
3

Choose a subscription plan

Browse the available plans and select the one that fits your listening needs. You will see current pricing and any trial offers during checkout.
4

Refresh your radio signal

If you are activating a car radio, go to the SiriusXM signal refresh page and enter your Radio ID. Then follow the on-screen instructions to send an activation signal to your radio. Make sure your vehicle is outside with a clear view of the sky and the radio is tuned to channel 1 or the preview channel.
5

Tune in and start listening

Once you see a confirmation message on your radio or in your account, browse channels and start listening. On the app, sign in and tap any channel to stream.
Activation can take up to 15 minutes. If your radio still shows “No Signal” after that, try turning the radio off and back on, or moving the vehicle to an open area away from tall buildings or trees.
Do not share your Radio ID publicly. It is linked to your subscription and can be used to manage your account.
